Attention NCPS Teachers (Grades K-8 and Special Education Teachers):

We are pleased to announce NCPS is partnering with Rappahannock Community College to offer EDU 295 Algebraic Thinking for Kingergarten through grade 8 teachers. This class will be offered on a 12 week dynamic session which will start September 9.

This three (3) credit class will be offered in a hybrid format, a blend of online and in person instruction. The course instructors are own NHS Mathematics teacher Mrs. Amy Lamb and Mrs. Tara Booth. Mrs. Lamb and Mrs. Booth are ". . . preparing a course that should provide a solid foundation upon which the teachers will be able to create effective lesson plans and teach math skills with more confidence."

By enrolling in and completing this course, you will earn ninety (90) points toward recertification/licensure. Further, NCPS will pay for your RCC enrollment if you complete the course with success.

To enroll, teachers must complete the following steps:
1. Apply to the college (RCC) for admission;
2. Obtain a student ID#
3. Enroll in the class in order to have access to the Blackboard course site on the first day of class.

Special thanks to RCC Dean Patricia D. Mullins for partnering with the Northumberland County Public Schools to offer this course to our teachers! Please sign up as soon as possible if you plan to attend!
